Reg is developing 3 projects. The Death Trippers is about two bikers who have their loyalty to each other tested by a woman they meet at a gang bang. Leslie, My Name is Evil is about a sheltered chemical engineer who falls in love with a former homecoming princess when he becomes a jury member at her hippie death cult murder trial. The Rebel Kind is the story of the Modernettes, a band that would have been as big as Blondie or the B-52s if they'd only gone to L.A. and died in a car crash. Reg came to directing from editing. His credits include Hard Core Logo, Last Night and Fix: The Story of an Addicted City. Harry Knowles (Ain't It Cool News) on Monkey Warfare: "From time to time, you stumble onto a film that is so refreshing and so on target with who you are that you are just blown away. Reginald Harkema's Monkey Warfare feels impossibly cool, making garage sales, eBAy, and living off the radar of the government seem like the way to live. It makes Canada seem cool. I love that this film takes its heart from Godard while challenging Tarantino for the king of cool. I love the beat this film has and the way it moves while it tells its story. It is the sort of film that makes you want to see everything by the same filmmaker for the rest of his career." Status In development. |
