I'm YoursRoad movie/romance I’m Yours conjures a heady concoction of free love and end-of-the-world conspiracy. Wall Street broker everyman, Robert, turns thirty and to celebrate he’s out drinking with his friends. Life has been cruel to Robert lately. His girlfriend dumped him, the economic crisis has taken its toll, he’s been battered and blindsided and wonders why. All seems lost until Daphne, the sexiest girl in the bar, unexpectedly picks him up. French-kissing him with a hit of ecstasy on her tongue, Daphne promises him the night of his life and delivers. The next morning, Robert wakes up in the passenger seat of his car at the Canadian/US border. While he was sleeping, Daphne inadvertently discovered that his briefcase was full of stolen money. To keep it quiet, she asks Robert for a favour, to spend the weekend with her pretending to be her fiancée for her parents. Daphne has an estranged daughter and needs his help to win her back. So they embark on a road trip, taking them through the truck stops, strip bars and wilds of picturesque Northern Ontario. As they journey deeper into the bush, they invent an elaborate make-believe love affair. But the more time they spend together, the more the imaginary details overlap with their very real attraction for one another. Little by little, they fall for one another, if only they were brave enough to recognize it. They arrive at the edge of civilization, North Bay, home of NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) where the fate of the human race is being decided. Robert pitches a perfect love affair for Daphne’s parents and they buy it. When she comes face to face with her child, though, she can’t pretend any longer. Maybe there is no one to love, or love us back; perhaps there’s nothing on the horizon but war and oblivion. Or maybe the only real hope for us all lies in those who are willing to love now before it is too late.
